How small is the population of Haslet? Well, in 2016 the city is was about 1/2 the size of many area high schools with just 1817 residents... But Haslet's stature grows every day just like its population. Haslet sits smack dab on the doorstep of the Alliance Corridor, so there are plenty of jobs coming to the area.
And of course jobs bring people. Haslet benefits from one of the lowest tax rates and the some of the best schools the area offers. Couple that with the choice of new, high end and well designed master-planned communities or a quiet large lot with a country feel, and it's no wonder Haslet has caught the attention of Metroplex house hunters.
When Cindy first mentioned we ought to look here to find new homes, I thought Haslet was out in the middle of nowhere. But she met us to show us around and I was glad she brought it up. We found lots of areas we liked and feel like we're in the middle of things. And we couldn't be happier with our new house.
The city had required 1/2 acre lots, but that's changing. New home developers are challenging the lot size requirement and the city council has reconsider the regulations in order to bring in new home builders it desires. Council members, however, have stated they will require other concessions from home builders that will insure a price point that keeps quality standards high.
