Forward Thinking
Grapevine and Colleyville consolidated schools in 1961 to become the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District. 60 years later some bold, forward thinking initiatives are underway in the form of a 10 year strategic plan called LEAD 2021. The 54 square mile district spans north and west of the DFW International Airport and maintains an enrollment of around 14,000 kids from Grapevine, Colleyville and small portions of Euless, Hurst and Southlake.

We set our sites on finding a home in the Grapevine-Colleyville school system even though we knew most of them were older. A lot of our friends were buying new homes in other areas, but we felt the schools would help our property values no matter what the market did. It payed off in the market decline that started in 2008. We did really well while friends who bought the newer tract houses didn't. What is it they say? Location, Location, Location. Well we believe the school district is a big part of that.
Colleyville offers several mid-range, established custom neighborhoods such as Brook Meadows and Monticello that offer trees and manicured lawns. Highland Meadows is also near the top of many homebuyers' "must see" list of neighborhoods. Grapevine homes are sometimes a bit more budget friendly in neighborhoods such as Dove Crossing, Dove Landing and Countryside Estates. That's because much of the area is a bit older, before the "need" to build "supersized" houses that started growing in popularity in the mid 1980's.
