Homes For Sale
Birdville School District

No, you're not the first to say "Birdville? What kind of name is that?" The district is very familiar with the jokes about its name. School Boards have even discussed changing the district's name, but community historians are dead set against it. The Birdville School District covers homes in portions of Colleyville, North Fort Worth, Haltom City, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills and Watauga.

Strong Support From Community and Business Partnerships

Community involvement is big in the BISD, and an important part of the district's strength. The district hosts around 5,500 volunteers each year on its 32 campuses. Some of the volunteers help with the expanded math and world geography curriculum in the secondary grades while others support the innovative activities developed for the elementary level.

In addition to the on campus volunteers, Birdville Independent School District has forged industry and business partnerships that benefit students and the community it serves. For example, Career and Technology Education courses, part of the Tech Prep degree plan, allow students to receive college credit as well as participate in internships the school district has established with its 125 industry and business partners.

New to BISD?

We really didn't have Birdville schools on our radar, but we feel like taking highway 121 into downtown Ft. Worth work is easier than trying to work our way down I-35. So we compared the Birdville schools to the Fort Worth side of the Keller schools and liked what we saw. Interestingly enough, we ended up in a neighborhood that is split between Keller schools and Birdville schools, and we're on the Birdville side. We were able to get a home that was more custom looking than what we were seeing further west. We also liked the quieter pace on this east side of highway 377 over by Davis Boulevard.
