Argyle School District Real Estate
The Home of Champions
AISD is Spreading Their Wings
The Argyle School District is on the grow. With the opening of Argyle West Elementary just in time for the 2019-2020 school year, the district now boasts 2 campuses for grades pre-K thru 3. Joining Hilltop Elementary the schools feed into the Intermediate, Middle and High School. An eventual third elementary school is planned as is a new high school in the Canyon Falls neighborhood.

New home construction has exploded in the Argyle School District in recent years. Large, master planned neighborhoods like Canyon Falls and Harvest are bringing new students to the district. AISD has a plan for that. The district saw the passage of a $66 million bond package in 2017 that allows for two new elementary schools, a new high school, renovations and technology upgrades.
Doubling in Size
Yet Still Very Small
In 2017 there were just under 2700 AISD Eagles. Projections for 2023? An almost doubling of students to 5060. While it seems astounding that a district could double in size in just five years, the growth is not unlike what other districts in the DFW Metroplex have smoothly transitioned through. What makes the growth in the Argyle ISD different is that it will still remain so small. The entire district will still be home to less students than can be found populating one 6A High School in, say, Allen, Texas.
From Pre-K to Pre-AP
About the Schools
At the High School level, AISD offers Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement courses for students following a more vigorous curriculum. Argyle High School currently offers 16 College Board approved AP courses, and in partnership with Texas Woman’s University allows students to earn college credit while in high school.
2019 marks the 8th year Argyle High School has won their 8th overall UIL Lone Star Cup. Though the district is small, there are clubs and activities for every student. From National Honor Society and Challenge Day Club to UNICEF, Spanish and Thespian Club students have ample opportunity to get involved. You'll also find UIL Academics, Theatre Arts, Band, Choir, Dance, Athletics and many more groups for students to participate in and develop as responsible leaders.
High Expectations Set
Argyle Middle offers both inclusive and exclusive clubs for students. Whether it's National Honor Society, Thespian Society or Robotics Club. AMS expects a winning attitude. On the athletic field, band competition, UIL academics, or in the classroom, AMS believes in taking each obstacle head on. Teachers and administrators fully embrace the idea that a winning attitude breeds a winning culture. And they further stress that it's this culture that sets AMS ahead of other middle schools. Kindness and respect is also reinforced throughout the school.
With just two grade levels, Argyle Intermediate School is a close knit group of teachers and administrators, working together to ensure student success. Students at AIS use collaboration, creativity, communication and critical thinking in developing experiences and opportunities, challenging each student to higher levels. Students can participate in several after school clubs including Drama Kids, Chess Club, Book Club, Pickleball, Girls on the Run, Robotics Club, and Archery. Students can also participate in safety patrol or flag team. 4th grader attends Forest Glen Outdoor Camp each year while 5th grade explores various attractions in Waco and Georgetown based on science TEKS for their annual field trips.
Elementary instruction in core subjects such as ELA, Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science is just the start for pre-K through 3rd graders. As all students don't learn the same way, elementary teacher implement lessons in a variety of ways (whole group, small group, interactive, technology, kinesthetic, and active role play). In addition to traditional methods of teaching, students participate in re-enactments, science labs and projects. Classes are available in music, art, echnology, library research plus PE. Safety patrol, UIL competition, chess club, drama club, book club are among the many other opportunities offered.

It Takes a Village
Community and Parent Involvement
AISD is has formed strong connections to the community and parents, working together to enhance the learning experience of students. The Argyle Education Foundation, a group of business, community and neighborhood volunteers work together to provide resources to enhance the learning environment in AISD schools. A non-profit, The Argyle ISD Education Foundation was created to solicit, manage and distribute funds among the schools and grant teachers' requests of supplies and extra materials.
Each school's PTA and PTO work together at a high level, helping benefit teachers and students as well as promote Argyle ISD within the community with their events and fundraisers.
Considering Schools and Districts
Homes within AISD's Zoning
Everyone likes to rely on district ratings they find online, but it's unwise to count on them to compare schools. The key to choosing the right school for your child should really have less to do with a district's rating and more to do with the campuses he or she will attend.
I always encourage parents to visit the schools in a new area. Be sure and make the time to get out there and take a look at the schools. I've found administrators are happy to meet with prospective parents and students. They'd love the opportunity to show you around. Not only will you get a better feel for a school's fit for your child, you'll feel a lot better sending your kids to a school you have more knowledge about than what you can read online or in a brochure. If you'd like someone to tag along, just give me a call. It can sometimes be helpful have third party input.
