Doubling in Size
Yet Still Very Small
This latest bond approval brings two new elementary schools to the district, for a total of 5 in 2026. Additionally voters approved a new middle school for 2025.
A new $27 million dollar stadium was also given the go-ahead for Argyle High School, located in the Canyon Falls neighborhood, as well as an Indoor Activity Center at the school. These new facilities will benefit the school as it transitions to Class 5A in 2022-2023.
There is no tax rate impact for Argyle ISD boundary homeowners as Texas House Bill 3 and the tax compression to the Maintenance & Operations portion of the district’s budget reduced the tax rate.
From Pre-K to Pre-AP
About the Schools
At the High School level, AISD offers Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement courses for students following a more rigorous curriculum. Argyle High School currently offers 16 College Board approved AP courses, and in partnership with Texas Woman’s University allows students to earn college credit while in high school.
2019 marks the 8th year Argyle High School has won their 8th overall UIL Lone Star Cup. Though the district is small, there are clubs and activities for every student. From National Honor Society and Challenge Day Club to UNICEF, Spanish and Thespian Club students have ample opportunity to get involved. You'll also find UIL Academics, Theatre Arts, Band, Choir, Dance, Athletics and many more groups for students to participate in and develop as responsible leaders.
Younger Grades
High Expectations Set
Argyle Middle offers both inclusive and exclusive clubs for students. Whether it's National Honor Society, Thespian Society or Robotics Club. AMS expects a winning attitude. On the athletic field, band competition, UIL academics, or in the classroom, AMS believes in taking each obstacle head-on. Teachers and administrators fully embrace the idea that a winning attitude breeds a winning culture. And they further stress that it's this culture that sets AMS ahead of other middle schools. Kindness and respect is also reinforced throughout the school.
With just two grade levels, Argyle Intermediate School is a close-knit group of teachers and administrators, working together to ensure student success. Students at AIS use collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking in developing experiences and opportunities, challenging each student to higher levels. Students can participate in several after school clubs including Drama Kids, Chess Club, Book Club, Pickleball, Girls on the Run, Robotics Club, and Archery. Students can also participate in safety patrol or flag teams. 4th grader attends Forest Glen Outdoor Camp each year while 5th grade explores various attractions in Waco and Georgetown based on science TEKS for their annual field trips.
Elementary instruction in core subjects such as ELA, Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science is just the start for pre-K through 3rd graders. As all students don't learn the same way, elementary teachers implement lessons in a variety of ways (whole group, small group, interactive, technology, kinesthetic, and active role play). In addition to traditional methods of teaching, students participate in re-enactments, science labs, and projects. Classes are available in music, art, technology, library research plus PE. Safety patrol, UIL competition, chess club, drama club, book club are among the many other opportunities offered.

We love the Argyle schools. We researched a lot before we moved because schools were the most important factor for us. That's how we found Cindy online. She happily answered our questions, and gave us even more to think about before we even go to town to meet her. If you're thinking about a move to the Argyle area, give Cindy a call. You'll love her, and the area!
Everyone likes to rely on district ratings they find online, but it's unwise to count on them to compare schools. The key to choosing the right school for your child should really have less to do with a district's rating and more to do with the campuses he or she will attend.
I always encourage parents to visit the schools in a new area. Be sure and take the time to get out there and take a look at the schools. I've found administrators are happy to meet with prospective parents and students. They'd love the opportunity to show you around. Not only will you get a better feel for a school's fit for your child, but you'll also feel a lot better sending your kids to a school you have more knowledge about than what you can read online or in a brochure. If you'd like someone to tag along, just give me a call. It can sometimes be helpful to have third party input.
