Grapevine and Colleyville consolidated schools in 1961 to become the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District. 50 years later some bold, forward thinking initiatives are underway in the form of a 10 year strategic plan called LEAD 2021. The 54 square mile district spans north and west of the DFW International Airport and maintains an enrollment of around 14,000 kids from Grapevine, Colleyville and small portions of Euless, Hurst and Southlake.

Quality Education Benefits the Grapevine-Colleyville Housing Market
Texas decided to pass up federal school funding allowing districts to avoid accepting the Common Core standards and curriculum. In it's place, the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD created their "Leading Excellence-Action Driven" plan called LEAD 2021. Success is in the numbers as district schools continue to post accolades on a national level.
Grapevine-Colleyville Boasts top Performing Schools
The district's 17 traditional schools and two alternative campuses include 11 National Blue Ribbon Schools. Both high schools have been on Newsweek Magazine's list of top performing high schools in the country. Year in and year out the majority of Grapevine-Colleyville schools receive the Texas Education Administration's highest rankings, while SAT and ACT scores continually come out near the top of state and national scores. National averages for AP scores have run around 2.89, while the Grapevine-Colleyville students boast an impressive 3.15; 69 percent of GCISD students scored three or higher on at least one test and 39 percent scored four or higher. The graduation rate of the district is 95%, of which 80% of students enroll in college.
New Homes for Sale in the Grapevine-Colleyville School District
Real estate within the GCISD holds offerings for buyers looking for small-town values with close proximity to major urban amenities. Area homes for sale run the gamut of home sizes and price ranges, and those searching a new home in the Grapevine-Colleyville school district are often overwhelmed by the wide range of choices in real estate for sale. Newer neighborhoods such as St. Andrews or Somerset Manor (both in Colleyville) tend to be smaller as the large parcels of land are less available as the area nears build-out. There area few exceptions to that rule, however, as evidenced by the 73 home neighborhood of The Overlook or Grapevine's Lake Pointe addition with 64 homesites.
Established Neighborhoods Offering Homes for Sale in the GCISD
Colleyville offers several mid-range, established custom neighborhoods such as Brook Meadows and Monticello that offer trees and manicured lawns. Highland Meadows is also near the top of many homebuyers' "must see" list of neighborhoods. Grapevine homes are sometimes a bit more budget friendly in neighborhoods such as Dove Crossing, Dove Landing and Countryside Estates. That's because much of the area is a bit older, before the "need" to build "supersized" houses that started growing in popularity in the mid 1980's.
